One traveling fellowship (up to a maximum of $5,000) is intended for the young researcher to expand their expertise and knowledge by association with other workers in their field.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a member of the MAOA or have applied for membership
• Fellowship must be done at an institution in the MAOA 20-state area
• Under age 45 by the application deadline
  
• Board-certified
• Must maintain a practice or be currently located in the 20-state Mid-America region
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have applied for U.S. citizenship
